Whitehall Plantationhouse
White Hall Plantation House still stands proudly in grandeur and stately solemnity overlooking the once not so broad Atchafalaya River and surrounding Bayou Coteau. Established in 1849 by Captain Samuel J. Norwood, White Hall Plantation House has witnessed, survived, and outlived a bygone era of Antebellum elegance, grace, and chivalry as well as a turbulent history of war and retreat, levee set-backs, and demolition by neglect leaving her battered but unbowed. Though weathered, White Hall Plantation House retains her dignity, rejects pity, and demands a second look as a premier landmark of authenticity and permanence.
