Doggy Duds opened it's doors in January, 1998. We began producing dog costumes when it became known that local pet owners were unable to purchase Mardi Gras outfits for our annual Krewe of Barkus Parade here in Lake Charles, Louisiana. So with the comfort of the pet in mind, we created costumes that any K-9 would be proud to wear.

Known for its irreverence, the Krewe of Tucks began in 1969 as a group of Loyola University students. The club takes its name from Friar Tuck, an uptown pub where two college students decided to create their own Carnival krewe after unsuccessfully trying to become white flambeaux carriers.
